Ideally pruning would begin immediately after planting your tree. Training is critical to ensure optimal growth and structure. Trees should be pruned when hazards are present, such as dead limbs, dying limbs, or living limbs to establish the framework.
There is a lot to consider before removing a tree. Each situation is different and it's not a "one size fits all" solution. Trees are a valuable asset to our environment. They are also home to many important living creatures that each hold an integral part to making an ecosystem function properly. We strive to do what's best for your safety as well as the health of your land.
What season is best for tree care?
All seasons are a good time for tree service. There are benefits to doing certain services in specific seasons. Removals can be safety done year round. Scheduling pruning service will depend on the type of tree/shrub, as well as the desired effect. Planting new trees/shrubs seems to work best in the spring, as this gives them ample time to establish roots and growth before winter.
Why should I trim my trees?
If you train your trees from an early stage of life, maintenance will be needed less in the future once the structure is trained to a safe, strong form. You should trim your trees because establishing early care can save you money in the long run by preventing costly hazardous removals in the future. Trimming your trees allows them to thrive and grow strong for future generations to enjoy. Trimming your trees can lighten the limbs to reduce the likelihood of storm damage.
